Vintage 15ct Gold Aquamarine, Seed Pearl & Enamel Pendant

There are periods in jewellery history when makers weren't simply setting stones — they were telling stories. This Vintage 15ct Gold Aquamarine, Seed Pearl & Enamel Pendant is one of them: a meeting point between the structural elegance of the Edwardian era and the romantic, nature-drawn sensibility of Art Nouveau, crafted in the 1920s when both movements were still alive in the hands of goldsmiths who understood that beauty and meaning were the same thing.

The pendant descends in three distinct acts. At the top, a round-cut aquamarine — pale and watery, the colour of early morning light on still water — is suspended from a fine cable chain like the first note of something longer. Below it, a slender golden triangle opens into the heart of the piece: a hexagonal panel of deep blue enamel, its midnight depth the perfect foil for the sculpted gold botanical spray that rises across its surface. Delicate leaves unfurl in warm 15ct gold while a seed pearl nestles at the flower's centre — luminous and organic, entirely in keeping with the Nouveau tradition of treating nature as subject rather than ornament. From the base, a pear-cut aquamarine drops in a milgrain-edged collet, a final flourish of pale blue that moves gently with the wearer and catches the light from below. Together the two aquamarines total 1.50ct.
