"Natural yellow diamonds occupy a category of their own. Unlike colour treated or laboratory grown alternatives, a natural fancy colour diamond derives its warmth from nitrogen atoms present during its formation deep within the earth - a geological event that cannot be replicated on demand.
This heart-shaped yellow diamond of just over three carats was personally selected to be set in the Isla pendant, an 1899 Collection design that, like a tropical paradise, encircles the centre stone in a halo of white round brilliant diamonds, the contrast between warm and cool intensifying both. The 18ct yellow and white gold combination in the setting continues that interplay throughout the piece.
